JUN SHIMIZU
清水 淳（しみず・じゅん）
1964年、埼玉県生まれ。
テクニカルダイビングの技術を基盤に、極限環境での水中撮影を専門とする水中写真家。メキシコ・セノーテをはじめ、世界各地のケーブや沈没船、深海域など、光の届かぬ領域を舞台に独自の表現を追求する。
沖縄・那覇を拠点に、水中写真教室「マリーンプロダクト」を主宰。カメラメーカー各社の開発にも携わる。執筆活動では、「ダイバーと海の総合サイト／オーシャナ」にて水中撮影機材とテクニックをテーマに連載中。

Jun Shimizu
Born in Saitama, Japan, in 1964.
An underwater photographer specializing in extreme-environment photography based on advanced technical diving skills. From the mysterious cenotes of Mexico to deep wrecks and cave systems around the world, he pursues light, silence, and the unseen beauty beneath the surface.
In July 2025, Shimizu and his team discovered and photographed the sunken warship Hitachi Maru, lost during the Russo-Japanese War—an achievement that drew national attention as a historical underwater record.
Based in Naha, Okinawa, he runs the underwater photography school Marine Product. As a development advisor for major camera manufacturers, he contributes to the creation of underwater shooting modes and white balance systems.
Since the debut of the OLYMPUS C-900 Zoom in 1998, he has been responsible for tuning and test shooting of all OLYMPUS underwater camera models, including the latest TG series.
His deep technical expertise also extends to product development and distribution for the underwater accessory brand AOI in Japan.
As a writer, Shimizu regularly contributes articles on underwater imaging and equipment to Oceana, Japan’s leading diving media.
He also appears in PADI Japan’s Digital Camera Mastery Clinic and OM SYSTEM’s official Camera Impression series, including “Jun Shimizu × OM-1” and “OM SYSTEM Tough TG-7 × Jun Shimizu.”
Through his technical diving courses, he teaches divers how to explore and capture the underwater world safely and creatively.
